At Turner Home Improvement Contractors, LLC, we’re not just committed to enhancing homes; we’re also dedicated to enhancing the lives of those in our community. This year, our annual Gear Up for Fall event was a heartwarming success, as we proudly donated nearly $3,000 worth of school supplies to Connecticut teachers. These essential items will directly impact the learning environments of our children, helping create classrooms where students can thrive.
Having many family members and friends who are teachers in Connecticut, we understand they often go above and beyond for their students, using their own money to ensure their classrooms are equipped with the tools necessary for a positive and productive learning experience. This can range from everyday supplies like pencils and glue sticks to more specialized items like books, human anatomy models, and even personal-sized dry erase boards for more interactive learning. In fact, many of the donated supplies this year included practical items that assist not only with learning but also with creating an engaging and comfortable environment for students. These resources, such as headphones and flexible seating, provide students with a more dynamic and personalized way to learn.
This year’s recipients teach in the following Connecticut towns: Franklin, Hartford, Middlefield, New Britain, Portland, Stratford, Waterbury, Waterford, & Windham. We also donated $300 worth of school supplies to East Hartford’s Back to School Rally where they provide 2,000 backpacks filled with supplies directly to their students.
The Gear Up for Fall initiative came to life as a way for us to give back to the educators who play such a crucial role in shaping the future of our community. We wanted to ease the financial burden on teachers and ensure that the students of Connecticut have access to the supplies they need to succeed. By donating these items directly to teachers, we ensure that the resources are going to those who need them most, making an immediate and meaningful difference.
The name Gear Up for Fall holds significance, as it not only reflects our goal of helping teachers and students get prepared for the new school year, but also ties back to what we do best: getting homes ready for the colder months ahead. As contractors, we know that fall is historically one of the busiest times of the year. Homeowners often scramble to prepare their homes for the harsh Connecticut winters, and we’re here to help make sure they don’t wait until the last minute.
As we look ahead, our goal is to make Gear Up for Fall bigger and better each year. We want to continue supporting our local educators and remind our clients to get their homes ready for the colder months.
